  Mobile Scanning

  Groma possess mobile scanning technology to quickly survey large and complex areas. The mobile scanner can be attached to a van or hi-rail truck, and driven through site to collect survey information in a point cloud representation. This cuts down on time spent on site, and produces the same deliverables with the same accuracy as conventional GPS/Total Station surveys.

  Track Monitoring

  When construction takes place in the immediate vicinity of a rail line, monitoring of track movement is required to ensure that the construction will not impact safe use of the rails. We can install metal pins at the centreline of the rail, and/or targets which are glued onto the track or other items nearby. Using total station, we will survey a baseline of the pin/target coordinates before construction. During construction, we will survey the pins/targets on a schedule decided by the client, and calculate movement from the baseline in a daily Excel table.

  Culvert Inspections

  Using remote controlled inspection drones, we can provide detailed information of the inside of culverts and other confined spaces. Our drones can be sent to inaccessible or difficult locations to perform visual inspections. Combining the 3D scanning technology with our inspection drones allows for fully dimensioned survey of any hard to reach space.

  3D Laser Scanning

  With scanning, we provide our clients with a fast and easy solution to gather large quantities of information with a high degree of accuracy. Using the 3D laser scanner to gather point cloud data that contains both location and RGB information makes it easy for Groma’s customers to dimension and display cross sections. Point clouds are easily imported into AutoCAD or can be dimensioned right on the web using online tools.

  Aerial Drone Surveying

  Using unmanned fixed-wing and rotorcraft we can provide economical ways to perform aerial surveys. Our drones can be launched and sent to remote or hazardous locations to gather survey data or perform visual inspections. Using LiDAR techniques, the data can be used to provide geo-referenced results in a variety of formats.
