About The Project
The designers required accurate pipe run data and machinery information for detailed design.
Due to the age of the facility, it is difficult to obtain correct and accurate as-built drawings of pipe runs, machinery, fire and safety equipment etc.
We chose to perform LiDAR scans as it collects all data visible from each scan position. The benefit for the client was that they would receive detailed dimensions for their entire facility. This allowed them to create accurate, up to date drawings for emergency exits and safety equipment.
In total we performed approximately 600 LiDAR scans tied into control set by total station to verify the accuracy of the scan data. We also performed an aerial drone flight to capture location and general detail of outdoor features.
Final results were a fully detailed pointcloud of the entire facility, inside and out, which has enough information for detailed design.
Due to the sensitive nature of the facility, we cannot showcase any information from this site.
