Kitchener Transit Hub

About The Project

Topographic survey for future development of design for the Kitchener Transit Hub site.  This included 750m of the CN/Metrolinx rail corridor, and portions of King St, Waterloo Street, Duke Street, and Weber Street.

Corridor surveying was completed using GPS and total station equipment, capturing all corridor features and track-level bridge features.  Groma’s surveyors also captured CN & Metrolinx owned utility locates, marked by Ledcor and PNR, respectively.

Most of the roadway surveying, except for King, Weber and the Duke/Victoria intersection, could be surveyed conventionally as well.  The remaining streets, due to heavy traffic during the day, were surveyed at the same time as public utility locates during overnight hours.  This included features on the underside of the King & Weber bridges, along with the LRT tracks and other in-road features.

The client received survey base plans, a DTM with contours, and a stamped utility locates drawing as part of this project.
