About The Project

For future rail connection design, Groma surveyed a portion of Piers 14 & 15 at the Hamilton Ports property.  As the site was mostly paved, Groma surveyed the majority with mobile scanning technology.

Targets were set throughout the site (tied into required coordinate system) before the mobile scan vehicle was driven through.  This surveyed all features in one pass, including fence lines, building outlines, road features and other items.  Top of rail was surveyed using conventional methods, as well as the bridge found within the site limits.

SUE Level B locates were preformed on site as well.

Groma coordinated with Wood & HOPA staff to confirm expected survey dates and surveyor names for access into the Ports property.

The client received a survey points list, 2D/3D survey base plans and a full utility drawing.
