About The Project
Topographic survey of 21 residential properties and 5 slope areas near North York, Toronto, as part of a slope stability survey for the TRCA.
Some survey of the slopes was completed with GPS where signal was available, but the majority of the survey work was completed using total station, tied into nearby City of Toronto monuments. Control points were traversed into each background for individual setups in each property.
All yard features were surveyed, including the outline of the house, fence lines, and ground features to capture all surface components (i.e. patios, interlock, driveways, gardens, etc.). Groma & AECOM worked with the TRCA and property owners to survey the yards at certain times, with no damage. Due to the snow, surveyors had to wait for some areas to melt before proceeding with the survey.
The client received a survey points list, 2D/3D survey base plans, and a DTM of the entire site with contours.
